Here's some beautiful floating candle examples and where to get some great bargains as well!

Floating Candles are one of the most popular centerpieces that often gets a lot of attention. You can make many different beautiful arrangements with floating candles, perfect for special events such as weddings or entertaining.

Typically made of votive sized candles, they are usually put in a bowl of water where they float. Weddings and special events are favorites for floating candles, though others do often experiment with larger bodies of water such as lakes, the ocean, and swimming pools. (Though if you are using pool floating candles you will want to make sure they are large enough and do not get trapped in the pool’s filter system – that could potentially be pretty bad!)

Here are a few tips for choosing your floating candle arrangement:

Color: There are many different colors to try and check out that you can pick. Many choose white, pink, or red, though blue and purple and even yellow and orange are popular as well. You can experiment with different colors to see what effect the reflection on the water it gives to make it perfect for you.

Shape: Many shapes exist to give you a lot of flexibility in the overall design of your arrangement. You will often see flower shapes such as roses which are extremely popular for weddings. You may also see stars, triangles, squares, and other decorative shapes which can help add to the overall atmosphere.

Scent: Depending on the occasion, you may want to opt for a certain scent or go with an unscented variety. Vanilla is probably the most popular one you will see everywhere, though you can often find others from time to time as well.

The Bowl: Last but not least, don’t neglect to give some thought to the bowl you plan on using to hold the water. This can make for some very great and unique centerpieces. A clear glass punch bowl is often popular, though some may choose other decorative pieces. Fountains are another favorite, while some may prefer to go with several multiple smaller bowls grouped together in clusters.

Now that you know what to look for, you might want to check out some of these finds below:

Aromatherapy candles have gained much popularity over the last several years as more and more people think about different things they can do to help improve their mood. Many studies have been done which examine the relationship between scents we smell and the effect it has on the wavelengths of our brain activity. This is very interesting, because by experiencing certain scents, it could very be possible to help change your mood.

While aromatherapy is used often only with oils, more and more candles are being made with these same popular scents which gives people the same effect as well as the soothing calming effects that lighting candles brings.

Before you buy an aromatherapeutic candle, you will want to make sure that you choose the right scent for your needs. There are a wide variety of scents and making sure that you have one that will help you accomplish your desired results is important.

Here’s a quick guide to the possible scents you may be interested in:

Lavender: One of the most popular, lavender has been used for many centuries because of its calming effect. It is a favorite amongst many, especially for stress relief.

Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus is another popular scent that is used for a wide variety of purposes. Many people believe it can be helpful with healing, especially for headache relief or sinus pressure.

Citrus Oils: Do you need more energy? Feel like you need a boost? The clean and fresh citrus scents such as lemon and orange can be excellent for this.

Chamomile: Chamomile is another popular essential oil that can help with stress relief. If you’re feeling overstressed or stressed out, sometimes the scent can be relaxing.

Cinnamon: Cinnamon is a very popular flavor in many candles, so that is nice about it – you can find it just about anywhere! It too can help relieve stress and is also thought to help make people feel more positive.

Ginger: Ginger can be used often as a way to clear your mind and promote mental sharpness. Some believe it can help when they are feeling unwell or suffering from a cold, though of course it cannot substitute medical treatment. It is known best for its helpfulness in overcoming nausea.

Peppermint: Feeling sluggish? Need refreshed? The scent of peppermint can often help you get your focus back.

These are just a few of the many possible aromatherapy scents available. You can also check out some of the ones listed below which you may like:

Citronella candles have long been used as a way to ward off pesky mosquitoes and other insects, especially during outdoor events. How do you know how many you need? Do they actually work? We tell you everything you need to know about them here.

When you buy candles, it is important to realize that not all candle manufacturers are the same. Some have very high product standards, others leave much to be desired. It all depends what you are looking for.

Citronella is an essential oil which is known to be a natural insect repellent. It comes from the Cymbopogon species of plants, which is basically a tall perennial grass that is native to tropical areas. Many people prefer using it because it is all natural and thus unlike other commercial products intended to keep flying insects away it is not loaded with many dangerous and toxic chemicals which could potentially cause problems to others as well as be bad for our environment.

When candles are made, the manufacturer will typically infuse the oil fragrance with melted wax. The candles work in a way so that when the wick is lit and the wax melts, the fragrance is released.

For this reason, it is most important when using these types of candles that you consider the size of the melt pool, because the melt pool will be what determines how much fragrance is released and therefore how effectively it will work in keeping insects especially mosquitoes away. The size of the candle is somewhat important, since a larger candle will have more of the fragrance, but it will also likely take longer to create a sufficient melt pool.

Three wick candles for larger sized candles are likely the best option, because the warmth of the three wicks will cause the wax to melt faster as well as more evenly. An even distribution will greatly help in making sure that it is effective.

You will also want to consider how many candles will be needed. Many people ask the question “How Many Citronella Candles?” do I need, which is an important one. The typical candle will only have a range of about 3-6 feet, so for your standard sized deck you will want to make sure the candles are placed about 3-6 feet apart to create a central radius.

Using oil lamps, also known as the Tiki Torch, which we have pictured here, is another, somewhat more effective way of using citronella as a repellent for insects, because you do not have to worry about the wax melting. However, many people still prefer candles as they are simply much more appeasing to the eye and somewhat safer as well as easier to set up, since you often need to go to special accommodations to set up oil lamps.

Here are some of the most popular citronella candle types:

 Amazon.com Widgets

Now that you know what to look for and how to choose citronella candles, you’re ready to have a great time outdoors, without the bugs!

Wondering where to get the best scented soy candles? Look no farther, we know of some great places to get all natural clean burning highly triple and double scented soy candles.

Many people find they like scented soy candles more than paraffin based types and for good reason – they are cleaner burning, better for the environment, and certainly more cost effective. They also have a lower melt point, which means fragrances are released rather quickly.

Soy candles got their start in the early 1990’s when it was first discovered by someone named Michael Richards that soy oil could be used to create wax and could be used as a cost effective alternative for making candles.

Soy is all natural and is derived from the soy plant which produces soy beans. Many of the foods we eat contain soy or soy based products, and many who are lactose intolerant also use it.

Soy candles are clean burning, which means they give off very little smoke which causes soot or residue. If you have ever burned paraffin wax candles for any extended period of time in a constant place, you may have likely noticed a dark residue on the nearby walls or ceilings. While the residue can typically be washed off from most semi-gloss painted walls, it can be a bit of an inconvenience for candle lovers.

Because soy is a renewable energy, scented soy candles are also much better for the environment. Paraffin based waxes are made from oil – and we all know what environmental concerns with oil exist!

Another huge advantage is how they are cost effective – a large jar candle may only be around $8-12 whereas others may be as much as $30. So, if you’re an avid candle lover, making the switch can also give you substantial savings over time.

There are many great places to get scented soy candles, but one of our favorites is from eBay simply because there are so many that are handmade and high quality. We like supporting hand made candle creators, and so that is why we decided to feature some of the many ones available:

As you can see, there are all kinds of great scents to try out and enjoy. From delicious chocolates to berry to apple to even many spa and clean scents, there is sure to be a little something for everyone. And this is only a small sample of the thousands of candles available on eBay – you never know what you might find!

If you haven’t used scented soy candles before, there’s no reason why not to try them. Thousands of people have tried them to find out that they are one of their favorite types!

Triple scented candles are typically the most fragrant of the many types of kinds available. If you're looking to find out what the best types are, we'll help you know exactly what to look for and where to try to get them.

If you’re looking for triple scented candles, chances are you are looking for a high quality candle which uses strong fragrances that will fill your entire room from the moment you light the wick.

There is nothing more frustrating to the candle lover than to purchase and light a candle that does not have a fantastic scent that will last as long as you’d like it to. Ideally, a scented candle should last for several hours.

In order to make sure you are getting a high quality product, it helps to know a little bit about how candles are made. Once you understand the candle making process, you will really understand what triple scents really mean.

The majority of most candles which you will see and buy are made by first melting the wax. There are a wide variety of waxes – there are gel waxes, paraffin waxes, and even soy wax candles. All of these are the most commonly found materials used in making these. To give it a scent, makers will then add in the fragrance. There are a number of different fragrances and not all of them are of the same quality. Some of them are pure essence oils which are very highly concentrated that need relatively little liquid, others are not so highly concentrated and therefor more scent is needed in order for the product to achieve a lasting smell. Others may also add dyes which give the item its color.

When you add many things together, you need to consider that you can only add so much for it to mix. This is basic chemistry – too much fragrance oil and it will not melt with the wax properly. So what the most important thing is to consider about the entire process is the concentration of this fragrance. A highly concentrated fragrance can be added in smaller amounts and last longer. This is what sets triple scented candles apart from others.

The other thing you may want to think about is a lot of mainstream candle manufacturers will only use the scented part for the top of the candle. When a candle is lit, a melt pool is achieved, and it is in this melt pool where the fragrance is released. However, a lot of the major corporations who produce these types of scents do not actually flavor the entire candle – only the top section. This is another thing that some people take into consideration when calling their candles triple scented. It simply means that only wax that is fully mixed with the fragrance oil is used – there is no filler wax at the bottom.

We recommend going with homemade candles. You can get them in a variety of places online, but there is an absolutely wonderful selection available on sites such as eBay. Many of these sellers go to the extra length to ensure that you are completely happy and satisfied with their products.
